Aim High For All programme to be used in Cracow summer camp facilitated by JP2F4S

As a result of John Paul 2 Foundation 4 Sport’s close relationship with St Mary’s University we will be facilitating a week long football summer camp for 15 boys from Cracow in Poland organised by Fr Matthew Devereux, the Superior General of the Legion of Christ in Poland and Fr Wawrzyniec Pryckowski, Youth Coordinator of the Legion of Christ.

The summer camp has operated for the last 15 years and has taken place in a number of European countries. The aim of the programme is to develop youth leadership through sport. This is underpinned by weekly attendance at the Club Horizon Youth Club in Cracow where young boys and girls follow a values-based curriculum aimed at producing future Catholic leaders through the medium of sport.

The Aim High for All programme produced by John Paul 2 Foundation 4 Sport (JP2F4S) will be adopted by Club Horizon and used to develop English language skills among the members.

Dr Colm Hickey, JP2F4S Director of Education said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to spread our work on a wider stage. It is entirely fitting that we should have a relationship with a club in Cracow where St John Paul II was Archbishop for many years. We hope to strengthen and develop new projects moving forward.”

Fr Matthew Devereux added: “We are extremely grateful to the John Paul 2 Foundation 4 Sport and St Mary’s University for facilitating this summer camp. We are keen to strengthen our links and would love to come back next year.”
