Joe Appiah wins Gold for Long Jump at European Masters Athletics Indoor Championship

Friend of The Foundation Joe Appiah, who is currently in Spain, representing Great Britain at the European Masters Athletics Indoor Championship (EMACI), has won Gold for Long Jump in his age group. He clinched the win with a staggering 6.33m leap.

Joe informed us that the medal was completely unexpected, due to injuring his hamstring only 8 days before. In addition to this, this win is more momentous as Joe says he has been trying for 11 years to achieve gold in this event.

We at John Paul II Foundation for Sport, would like to send Joe a massive congratulations, and wish him luck as he tackles his main event which is the 60m sprint hurdles on the 23rd May.
